When we saw St Mary's Island, we were extremely impressed. We absolutely love Island life. We regularly go for walks on the river paths around the Island. Nearly everything we need is within walking distance, there is a doctor's surgery on the Island which we have registered with, and even a shopping centre and a cinema just across the bridge on the mainland. All of the neighbours we have met are lovely, and because we are living on the Island we feel a strong sense of community.
We had looked at a few new developments around Kent, but as soon as we saw St. Mary’s Island we both immediately realised that it was the place for us. Our new apartment will be perfect for our retirement, as it’s very spacious and easy to maintain. I am absolutely passionate about sailing and when we do eventually move here I will be able to fulfil my ambition of owning my own boat and would like to moor it in the Marina right on the doorstep.
We loved living in our first house at St. Mary's Island and felt that the location, security features and local amenities couldn't be better. However, we decided that we needed a larger house for when the family came to stay, but we just didn't want to leave
St. Mary's Island.
My husband and I have been interested in buying a property on St Mary's Island for some while, as we were attracted by the communal ambience and spirit that has obviously developed and the overall lifestyle that's available.
Our townhouse reflects the contemporary lifestyle that we were looking for and provides us with large rooms, which will enable us to bring the majority of our furniture from our previous family home. We were also impressed with the good security features and the low maintenance of the property will ensure that we can relax and enjoy our leisure time.
I suppose that a lot of people might consider our decision to move out of our detached home and into a terraced as a step back down the property ladder. But, we were totally surprised when we visited the Ventura sales office and discovered that the terraced houses that Countryside are building are more spacious than the home we lived in.
The additional space that these homes offer has been achieved through the internal layout and clever use of glazing. Even though we weren't looking to move house, we have definitely made the right decision.
We decided to move to St Mary's Island as it is an ideal environment in which to raise our 16 month old son, Samuel. We selected our home at 'Chandler's Green' because all of the rooms were very generous in size and also, coming from the housebuilding industry myself, I was very impressed by the high standards of construction, design and finish.
Throughout the regeneration of the Island, I have seen a real community atmosphere developing especially since the opening of the primary school, doctors’ surgery and community hall. Many large families have moved to the Island and bought different homes to suit each generation from grandparents to grandchildren, due to this warm community atmosphere and the high quality of the homes that Countryside is providing.
